Since 1998, Anta’s Fitness and Self Defense has changed thousands of people life in South Florida (Miami, Doral, Hialeah and Sweetwater) by having them reach their fitness and martial arts goals. We are innovators and pioneers in South Florida fitness. We had the first fitness kickboxing, battling ropes, Indian club, Pilates and kettlebell classes in Doral and North Miami Dade County. The first kettlebell instructor certification and Piloxing classes in the state of Florida were at Anta’s Fitness and Self Defense.

What Should You Look for in a Trainer?
You should make sure that the trainer is in a good shape. If they are able to achieve results in themselves, They will be very likely to achieve results on clients. Our instructor are fit and lead by example. Beware of trainers that are out of shape. Would you go to a dentist with bad teeth? Also make sure that the trainer has had great success with clients and students. We have photos and testimonials of real people with great changes. Check the trainers certification. Is he or she certified as a fitness instructor and with any other equipment or modality that they are training. If they are using kettlebells or Battling Ropes ask to see their certifications.
Training Celebrities and Athletes
Julio Anta and his team of trainers have trained numerous celebrities and athletes. A few have given us permission to use their name and photos. We respect the ones that prefer to keep it private. Anta has trained Spanish Telenovela star Gabriel Soto, International news anchor Edgardo Del Villar, and Manny Reyes Jr World Karate and World Kickboxing Champion, King of the Cage MMA Champion and Semi Pro Football Player.

Our trainers are fit, certified and lead by example. We treat each private client individually with custom workout and/or self defense programs and nutritional plans.
Head instructor Julio Anta has over 40 years experience in Martial Arts, bodybuilding and fitness. Anta is an International bodybuilding competitor. He was the runner up in the North American Bodybuilding Championships Over 60 Light Weight 2019 and the runner up in the Florida State Bodybuilding championships 2019. Julio was the 2017 South Florida Bodybuilding Champion (Mr. South Florida) Over 60 Overall Winner and Light Weight Winner. He has won numerous karate and kung fu tournaments and has competed and medaled in 5K races and Dragon Boat Races. Anta is an honorably discharged United States Marine Corps Sergeant and a retired Corrections Officer. He holds numerous black belts, is a certified personal trainer and holds numerous fitness certifications. He has appeared on over 150 TV shows and numerous magazine and newspaper articles. Elena Anta is a certified Fitness Kickboxing, Pilates, Piloxing, Aerobics and Burn with Kearns MMA Fitness Trainer.
